I may have started a Christmas morning tradition at my house. I cooked breakfast this morning.

Slept a bit later than normal this morning, but still up before 8:00 a.m. I left Nita asleep and went into the kitchen. My menu was pancakes with maple syrup, Tennessee Pride mild (Nita's request) sausage, orange juice, milk (for Nita) and coffee. I went directly into the kitchen to get things prepared, and when Nita got up a few minutes later, I began to weave my magic in the kitchen, and before noon had breakfast on the table. Not only tasty, but well presented, if I may say so myself.

This just might be the start of a Christmas morning tradition!

P.S. And the smoke detector did not go off this morning!

Almost four hours to fix breakfast?

I had to slice the sausage. And the pancakes were made from a mix, used to be Aunt Jemima's. It was a dry mix and I had to add water and stir it up.

No instant breakfasts for us!

While I can't take any credit for doing the preparations (wife handled all of it), I did do my fair share of the eating. :)

From the bottom is cranberry/orange butter for the cranberry and banana breads in the upper left.
Next was a fresh fruit salad with at least 7 -10 ingredients.
Cheesy scrambled eggs.
Biscuits and gravy casserole with the homemade gravy being underneath the biscuits.
If you left the table hungry, it was your own fault.

My usual. Oatmeal with preserves (the last bite shared with 3 dogs), v8 with a splash of Franks to wash down my geezer pills, a bit of cheese (shared with the dogs) to cover the acidity of the v8 followed by a cup of coffee.

A feast for the eyes as well a the stomach! Beautifully presented.

When's the last time you checked the batteries Bob.....

We had breakfast burritos made at home: Bacon, hash browns and cheese, on X Mas Eve. Neighbors had us over for Brunch on The Day! I made blackberry turnovers; they made biscuits and gravy, with eggs, ham, and sausage patties.
