To say the least GRAPHIC. 
Straight to a drive through car wash! Aint no way I'm stepping out of that car until its been washed MANY times.

I thought explosion had to be an exaggeration until I saw the video. That was crazy. Cars were definitely totaled from that.
What would cause a sewer explosion like that? The sewer line could be clogged and methane gas buildup, but it still requires something to release the pressure or incendiary device or something.

I remember a case sme years ago, maybe New York City, where methane gas built up in the sewer. A loose manhole cover created a spark when run over by a vehicle that set off an explosion. I think a similar incident happened in Decatur, IL.
Explosions in grain elevators have been set off by the least spark. I iknvestigated on such fire and explosion the was caused by an overheated pillow block bearing.

And right after the "BOOM" is when you find out you are out of windshield washer fluid.
A friend of my dad had a welding rig and was a pipeliner. He was cutting a piece of pipe with his acetylene torch and some sparks landed on a manhole cover. The resulting blast blew his F350 Ford with full welding body and a 4 cylinder welder and set of torches with several extra cylinders of acetylene and oxygen onto its side. It also blew over a dozen manhole covers into the air with one landing on the roof of a 12 story apartment building. Luckily nobody was hurt. Bob said the only casualty was his underwear!
Can you imagine being the clean up crew called in after that sewer explosion? But it is China.... they just tell you to get out there and start mopping....
