Since I have not yet received my stimulus check, I went to the IRS website to check on my status. I entered the data requested, i.e., SSAN number, Date of Birth, address and got the answer that I am not eligible, which is incorrect. I have not filed my 2019 tax return yet, but I did file in 2018 and my income is certainly below the threshold. Any ideas of what to do now?

You draw SS, right? If so, you probably got that reply because the IRS has not yet received your info from SSA. That should happen sometime this week, last I heard.

I knew a guy in the 1980s who tried to pay his taxes they told him he was dead. He tried for about 6 months to clear it up to no avail. Hasn't paid taxes since. He was an ex Chrysler Marine VP and had plenty of cash tucked away and lived on rented property with his 100 car collection. Over the years he's sold off parts and cars. He's proof an all cash society could work.

Truly nothing the IRS does surprises me. At the last place I worked as an office manager I received a letter from them telling me that we had not paid them. I sent them a copy of the cancelled check that they had cashed. I received another letter stating that if not paid by a certain date then possible court action could result. I again sent a copy of the check and stated that if they still felt court action was necessary then let it happen (not those exact words). Never heard another word. Not even a "We made a mistake."

There was a funny scene in the movie "all quiet on the western front". This solider had bought a concertina and missed a payment. The mail caught up with them just when bullets, bombs and gas were zeroing in on them just before they were going into no mans land. He`s reading the letter aloud, "Dear Mr. so & so. Unless you pay up, you will find yourself in serious trouble!"

AOC thinks illegals are eligible go figure. She wants to give every single one a big fat check! Veterans and Americans not so much! USA ain't what it use to be the Left is Winning!

Nothing yet for me or the wife either and I get two gov retirement deposits, soc-sec, and VA. I haven’t filed this year yet and I owe every other year.

I went on the IRS.gov web site last week. Since I did 2019 tax returns in feb 2020 and 2018, 2019 I paid fed tax. I am on SS among several other gov. retirements checks and still working.
Figured since SS is automatic deposit all would be good to go. After entering my infor into IRS site. I was not in the system for a bank deposit due to no fed refunds in 18 and 19. They had no banking information and I needed to wait for a paper check, unless I filled out banking information. I did and at that point they confirmed I will get a stimulus check auto deposited. No date of that deposit as of yet.

Where on the site were you able to do this? I entered my info and only received a screen saying that I was not eligible. I would be glad to enter my banking info. Can you provide some more detail for those of us in this quandary?

So this is what I'm waiting. The government will figure out folks didn't really need the money and want it back. Either that or your tax increase next year will be more than your check. And, it won't drop after that so we'll be paying it back for the rest of our lives.

Apparently in her world, the term "American" is based on current location not citizenship.

I'm giving it a couple more weeks if nothing appears I'll get our Senator or Rep. on the case. I have tried talking to the IRS before and never had success they are NEVER wrong don't cha know. Called Susan Collins, she got them straightened out for me!
They will not listen to you, they recite to you probably all scripted depending on the subject. ps

I have nothing either but the way I read it it will come (funneled/rerouted) from/through one of the other Gov agencies I get retirement or benefits direct deposit from. Nothing for the wife either.

Its a BS mess

I went to www.irs.gov. Clicked on economic impact payments, next page has box named, get my payment and clicked it. Next page has same box, get my payment, clicked it. Then waited for the overloaded system, it makes a minute or so. Next you fill in boxes about you. 1st time since I was not in the system, I had to add details about 2019 taxes. Also banking information for the auto deposit. After that it said I will get it, no date listed. For me it was not difficult.

It doesn’t work like that for some of us, we get “no info available” and we know darn well they have our direct deposit info.

I just rechecked for a date of my deposit, the site says it will be down til the 25th. Maybe the bugs will get worked out?
If I do not see it was deposited by the 29th, I will check again.
