Check your phone bill !!!

Both my wife and I hate wasting money. She is relentless about bills and such. And since she's an accountant, it's scary sometimes. Once she grilled my about some credit card charges from 10 months earlier. Anyway, last night she's going through the phone bill online. I need a new phone and since she likes to do stuff like that, she can have at it. I'd rather give blood than look at a phone bill.

BUT!

She managed to lower our monthly phone bill by 60 a month. I'm not joking at all. We have 4 phones on the account. We pay for my parent's phone. Which was one of the charges she lowered. The phone companies love to sneak in data and then charge you for "data plans." But my parents have zero idea how to use the phone for anything internet related.

Anyway, just a thought, that I bet if anyone reading this looked at their phone bill they could shave a few dollars here and there.

That's all, just a PSA for Saturday morning.

AT&T has Fiber internet now. 1TB/second of internet is only $47 per month. Ours is going to be installed tomorrow morning! We were using Verizon, which is good, but slower at 247mbps.

My wife and my cell phone are4 on an old grandfathered in T-Mobile
pay as you go plan. Any minutes we buy are added to those already and are good for a year. Flip phones that don't get used much. I average adding about $10 ( the minimum) to hers and about $75 to mine each year.

Spectrum here. $20 a line for two phones with data and making payments on a new iPhone = $51 a month.

We had a land line since forever, but since it cost so much more than our cell phones, I finally had to reconsider.

The phone company would not give us a break of any kind, so we finally cancelled them.

We seldom used the land line, and being semi-rural, there was even an upcharge for calling to the most local metro area.

They won. We're gone.

I have the T Mobile old farts plan. Two lines for $35 each per month. Unlimited talk, text, and data.

I'm on the same plan. And T-Mobile provided both phones at no charge (other than to activate the lines). They've been so good that I recently added their home internet package. They guarantee $35 a month for 5 years, AND they gave me a $150 prepaid Master Card for signing up.

The other phone companies can pound sand, at least around here.

I charge my phone battery every two months without fail.

I pay AT&T a couple hundred a month and have no clue how to reduce it... (three separate phones... two line and one mobile). the only good news is I think some of my wife's stock investments are still with AT&T.

The fun part about these bills is all the little added taxes... I'm pretty sure our government has figured out a way to actually tax the taxes.

GA pays the cell phone bill and 'manages' the service since she's the primary user now that I'm no longer 'on the road' 200 days per year. She couldn't give a :poop: less about my service or connectivity (or lack thereof) so I'm at the mercy of both phone provider and herself.
I got caught in an area where for whatever reason I had no service and ended up having to make a landline call from the business where I was sitting. I was in an Amish community and that business phone was the only opportunity in the entire area. GA says we're going to change providers but I'm just guessing that won't happen unless/until SHE gets caught w/o cell service.:whistle:

Pretty simple. If you're over 55, switch to T-Mobile. For landlines, go VOIP. My landline is through Google Voice. I'm grandfathered in with a free account but I can check texts and voicemail at work from my desktop. It will ring on my phone or my tablet. You can also set things up to ring on your actual phone.
