Charter Arms 44

I like mine. I put Barami Hip Grips on it. Sure beats a .38Sp. for carry, and about the same size. :D

I like my two. I have an early one, made in the early/mid 70s, and a brand new one, test fired on June 11th. Good guns. Don't plan on loading them too hot as they will shoot lose quickly. Keep it to standard or factory loads, and they are a ball to take along with you for a walk in the woods :D

Hi,
I have a Charter 2000 in .44 spcl. I bought it for a woods gun, but am dissappointed that Buffalo bore recommends not using their .44 spcl in it. I have loaded some 240 gr. Hornady with 2400 to an estimated 900 + fps that did quite well accuracy wise and no harm to the gun. Of course I've not shot a lot of them yet. Now I am happier with the gun performance. Shooting it recoil wise is similar to a .357 mag.

My CA .44Spec Bulldog was made January 2010. Have shot over 300 rounds through it so far. Nice little gun. Shooting at a 8" plate at 15 yards it was hitting the right edge. Had to file the rear sight to bring it in. I load 5.2g of TB pushing 240g SWC. Works good. This is my CCW piece. Grips work fine for me.

My woods gun is still the o' .45 Colt Vaquero or .45 Colt Blackhawk.... depending on how I feel that day.

I have a newer stainless one and I had two breakdowns, once being sent back to CA. I love this gun but still have trouble trusting it 100% and yes I CCW some times, usually as a backup. However, I got lucky as mine shoots pretty much everything POA to 15 yds.

I have always wondered why S&W or Ruger doesn`t make one this size as it´s perfect.

I like mine. I've only put about 100 rounds through it due to high ammo price. I actually replaced the rubber grips with the first generation Bulldog wood grips and like them much better than the rubber. Fits my hand perfectly.
