Changing DA Six trigger spring, odd occurrence

I noticed something odd, with one of my Service Sixes........

I changed out the large "late style" trigger rebound spring on my Service Six, to a Bullseye spring in which the "loop" of the spring is smaller.

After installing the trigger back in the trigger guard,and putting the gun back together.......the cylinder latch-bolt stop did not function correctly.

I put the standard factory spring back in, and it worked fine.....

I then put the Bullseye spring in a Security Six that had the same large "late" rebound spring, and with the Bullseye spring, this gun works perfectly..........

Puzzling :? , anyone have any ideas?

stan, One thing that I can see that would cause your problem is "slight" dimentional differences in the component parts and how they sit in the trigger housing. Could be from wear or simply manufacturing tolerances. That's a reason why some components have to be "fitted" to each frame when assembled in manufacture. In my experience, sometime it doesn't take much of a difference, especially if the parts "move" slightly when the action is fired. I'm talking about "unwanted" movement within the "normal" movement of parts. Like the trigger spring shifting in it's slot on the trigger pin....................Dick :wink:
