In the AZ oven (Phoenix basin)
Tried to buy a new phone from motorola. Went through their web page
to order one of the Moto X Unlocked. Went all the way to payment and
then received an E-mail saying the order was cancelled, but my payment
had been accepted by PayPal (YEA, I know, but they already have my
cred. card number).

So I call Motorola and go through all the VRU "stuff". Get to the last part
where you actually get to talk with a person, and they say "we are closed
for the holiday". ARRRRRRRRRRRG!

So now I don't know if I have a phone on order . . . or not. AND I have to
wait until Monday to check.

And all that to go from a 3G to a 4G phone.

It's been one of those days (shaking head).

:D

There was one for sale on here,,,,,,, OH, I think Gunny Gene has moved it

 Still have it, but some re-assembly needed.
Did that feel good ? I have a computer I'd like for you to help me with!

Yep. You should try it some time. I'd suggest a larger caliber for a computer tho.

I did reply to the E-mail from Motorola and asked what happened, noted
a failure in their web page, my displeasure with their web site and said
for them to . . . call ME . . . when they get back to work.

Hope it works.

SIGH!

Don't know what service you use but most companies have a buyback upgrade program that is free or almost free. My last smart phone HTC One M8 was free. My wife's HTC One M9 was $99. Yes we had to do a 2 year contract but heck we have been with them for 20 years so that made no difference to us. A $700 phone for nothing or near nothing.

3G, 4G... No idea. My phone has a window the size of a Christmas postage stamp and real buttons. It's got more features than I'll ever use! (I haven't even used the radio, intercom or cruise control on my 2011 Harley yet! Still getting used to no kick starter and turn signals!) ;)

You ought to use them soon before the buttons shake off. :P :D

Turned out that Motorola had a rejection from PayPal.

Re did the phone order and it went through without a hitch (ended up
giving Motorola my credit card number).

Tried to get PayPal to credit my card and they are giving me the run-around.
I ended up having to create an account with them, that has NO access
to anything from "guest" payments. I think I'll call the credit card people
and find out what they see. If there is no charge, everything is fine. If
PayPal has charged me the $317 for the phone, I'll simply contest the
charge.

I knew there was a good reason to NOT use PayPal.
Now I see there are several.

No more phones for me. I retired in Oct. 2014 and turned in my company Android and no longer have any use for a phone or a watch. Anybody that needs to get in touch with me sends an E-mail that I check occasionally on my laptop and I might get back with them if I feel like it or...maybe not.

Ordered the Moto X Pure on Monday morning.
It shipped Tuesday afternoon.
This morning I find out it is coming from China,
and will be here this Friday morning!

Motorola is super responsive, once you get a real person!

PayPal still has not been heard from. Sigh.

Ordered from a US company, but like Apple,
the assembly is done in China.

Update: 5/14/16
Received a letter from the credit card company that my account has
been credited the full amount charged by PayPal. They also state that
they consider the incident closed. :D

They do recommend keeping correspondence for two months,
in case PayPal changes their mind. Oh well.

Amazing how there ARE times when things work the way they should. 8)

Phone arrived this morning.

Read all the instructions( ) and then started on it.
I'll not bore you will all the details, but it was only partially smooth.
Ended up at the local Verizon store, answered a bunch of questions,
and he got on the phone. About fifteen minutes later everything was
working.

Tested it with a text and a call, all is fine.

SIGH!

When even the guy in the Verizon store doesn't know where to start,
it is not as simple as it sould be. (Yea, I know many in those jobs are
just starting to learn, but this guy seemed he was past that point).

It's worrrrrrrking. :D

And YES the 4G is a whole lot faster.
