I guess my take-away from caryc's post was a bit different.
First off,, I'm NOT racist. I accept people based upon how they are as humans. So caryc's post struck me differently.
Maybe it's because I've been keeping up with the current activities over the last several years where the "woke" crowd & such have basically done as much as they can to destroy heritage or anything that is white based. Monuments being torn down, history re-written, the BLM movement,, thugs becoming a martyr, (felon george floyd & others,) and most of all, basically a lot of "reverse discrimination."
Hollyweird has been in the forefront of a lot of this. Shoving their agenda down everybody's throat. And it's not just race. It's every possible minority or attitude that hasn't been mainstream in the public.
Having a TV show with all black people,, is just as wrong as having a show with all white people.
We are a mixed society,, but the percentages of blacks, vs, hispanics, vs asian, vs white people have been totally ignored in the last several years.
A perfect example is the beauty pageants. We have a Miss USA,, and then we have a Miss Black USA. In the Miss USA events,, all races are allowed. But in the Miss Black USA,, only black ladies are allowed.
Discrimination.
If they tried to change the Miss USA to only white ladies,, can you imagine the uproar?
Yet,, they can re-write fairy tales changing the race of the main character, or make toys that were one way traditionally, and change the race or sex. Or they can destroy a monument to a white man who was very prominent in his life just because at one time when it was legal, he owned slaves. (I'm thinking local here,, with the Zeb Vance monument in Asheville NC.) Throw in the fact the woke bunch want to remove ALL confederate historical monuments & have already destroyed or removed most of them. How about the changing of the names of our military bases?
My take away from caryc's post was more to how another "woke" TV producer has decided to shove a racist attitude towards us.
Luckily,, we can change channels, or decide to never watch is if we wish.
But as we sit quietly, accepting the fact that many are shaming a lot of history or heritage until we no longer have any voice reminds me of how gun owners fail to stand & FIGHT for our Right to own guns. Those that do stand & fight are often fighting an uphill battle, against big media.
But once lost,, it's harder to get back.
All of us have heritage & history to be proud of. Is America perfect? No. Has America done things that are no longer acceptable, (slavery)? Yes. Do we need to rectify the wrongs in an honorable manner,, ? Well we should try hard. And we have done a lot. But the "woke" crowd is using the media & the entertainment industry to force their agenda upon others,, and refuses to accept any other attitudes or such.
Same thing with anti-gunners.
