Looking for clarification.

On the Six Series catalog numbers …..

End label shows -T behind the catalog number followed by Big Grip. I always assumed that means the wood bigger grips similar in looks to S&W targets. RENE shows -T = Target Grips.

There’s another suffix of -P that RENE indicates is for Pachmayr. ( Rubber ).

Today I saw a 6 inch blue Security in the -T Big Grip box that wears what I think are Target sized SILE brand grips.

So ….. wrong grips on the gun? Or, can -T mean either SILE or the wood targets? Something else?

good question as I had wondered , and as for the -P suffix, I do not recall having seen Pachmayr grips that had the cutout on the bottom of the flat to "see" the serial number on the on the gun like Sile did and I believe Uncle MIkes did??? who made the rubber grips for Ruger that had the medallions in them?? small ones, like the Bearcats medallions.....Chad, where are you???
I quit following the Six series guns years ago but they come to me, every now and then like yesterday as I showed you today.........

by the way the one on this gun have no maker on the inside, just stamped ( molded) Large Security Six ,Made in Italy (sorry no picture the camera quit taking CLOSEUPS)

"T" on the Sec Series is always "Target" and the "P" is always for rubber... not sure they are Pachmayr but maybe they are, but always with the silver Ruger eagle logo medallion.

So the Target Big Grip could have been either wood or rubber?

All of the factory rubber grips I've seen were made by Sile, the factory rubber grips with the small silver medallions are identical to the aftermarket Sile grips without medallions.

Its hard to see but the grips in the second pic are identical to the grips in the first pic except for the medallions. I'll get better pics and post later.
