Cannon shoot Pelham TN

There is another artillery shoot scheduled in Pelham TN March 25-27. I encourage our forum members to attend as it is a serious rush. Last year everyone that wanted to got to light or pull off shot shots. It is a family orientated and Christian event. Lots of big boomers and black powder fun. Hope you can make it Gramps! I'll give more details when I get them including how to register as a cannoneer. It's a backstage pass and most likely you will be invited to participate in some way. Hopefully I might get to meet some of our forum members this year. I plan on attending the 25th and 26th>

Gramps I've done gone and booked my room!!!!! I love this event, it"s a blast for sure. Last year everyone that wanted to got to fire off several rounds. I took my brother in law, his first, and he got to join a battery. He got to pull the rope.... I'm hoping he can go this year, he works a time clock job but is chomping at the bit. My favorite thing last year was resetting targets and picking up spent projectiles. Pretty cool finding spent rounds 1000 yards downrange. I only kept one from a mountain howitzer as we had a little feller helping us. Of course he found plenty and we helped him load them up to take home. His facial expression made my year. Unbelievable the tree damage we seen past 1000 yards by these front stuffers!

And those words hung in a poster hanging on the wall of the Orderly room of HQ, HQ Battery of the 38th Arty Bde (AD) on Osan AFB in Korea. I was there and saw it in 1967-68.
