Can the 1st. rd. trigger pull on a RUGER SR9 be lightened?

I have a friend that has had a Ruger SR9 for sometime. He wants to know if the double action (1st. rd.) trigger pull can be lightened up? He said it now pulls at about 8 1/2 pounds for the first round. Any help would surely be appreciated.....................THANKS..................CookE..

The SR9 is striker fired, and all trigger pulls will be the same. He probably has the original design and the triggers were tough to say it nicely. The new "D" shaped mag release versions were updated with the better triggers. All he could do is add a Ghost Trigger setup to lighten the one he has or trade for a new version.
