My search led me to the information below. But wasn't sure if this is the right one for the Ruger SR1911.

Thanks...

I bought a grip mount ( left handed) off Ebay ( 311825805769 ) 34.95....Its a scope mount but I cut it off right in front of the back 3 cuts on the rail...I dremeled the notch where the safety operates ( on the mount ) to allow it to operate easier and also dremeled the take down notch ( on the mount) to provide for easier racking of the slide...( which now has to be done from the front of the mount..I am a left handed shooter but I'm sure there are right side grip mounts if your worried about thumb placement..In fact they are more prevalent than the left sided ones but I have no experience with them...I any event it seems to be holding up well in so far as my Vortex Venom with the burris mount is concerned and I can still use my LPA Novak adjustable fiber optics ( from fusion) as it sits high enough to do so comfortably....The grips screws have not come loose and I do not have thread locker on them as I take the grip mount off for cleaning the pistol and etc... I ordered a cheap set of black rubber/plastic grips off Amazon and the R/H grip matches very well ....Its mounted on an SR 1911 Commander...( I wanted to use both sighting methods.) Oh yeah I also had to file the rail to allow it to fit the burris mount...Although it said Weaver and Picatinny it would not fit the rail I bought without a moderate amount of filing. The amended rail attachment is quite light..So far I really like it...I also didn't want a permanent mount....Dave
