I just melt 1# beeswax and use 3 tablespoons of vaseline (more if I want it softer) and a table spoon of Johnns paste wax...leaves the bore as smooth as a baby's butt.

Lee liquid alox mixed 50/50 with mineral spirits works great on tumble lube bullets.

Javalina works for me. It is a relatively soft alox-beeswax combo I believe.

Go over to castboolits.gunloads.com and check out bullshop or white label lubes. I have an order of white label on the way now...satisfied customer for years. Their lubes are about 1/3d the price of most lubes in the gun shops or Midway, etc.

Tumble lubing LEE LIQUID ALOX is cheap and effective for lower end loads in 45 Colt...you wouldn't need to size plain base boolits either; that might help accuracy in the 45 Colt.

I'm a happy customer of White Lable Lubes. I use Carnuba Red, Commercial Red (you have to ask for it. It's a little less tacky than Carnuba Red) BAC, & have some 2500 to try once I get my round to it's rounded up. I've tried Speed Green & it's a good lube also. I have all the makings to make my own lube but WLL is sooo easy, works, & I've had great service from them.

I usually make my own but if not i use carnuba red. I can buy it from white lable as cheap as i can make lube myself and its a great lube.

FWIW, I've used many over the years, Carnuba Red, Orange Magic, Super Moly and a few other miracle witches brews from shootin' and blastin' forums. After giving LBT blue a try, my hunt is over....Veral Smith knows how to make lube! :wink:

I've found that if it's sticky or greasy, it will probably work well. If it's like a crayon (according to John Linebaugh) that's probably all it's going to be good for...a crayon.
