Build date for old Single Six

My brother has an old Single Six that he's trying to find the build date of. It has a serial # in the low 50,000s, a 6 1/2 inch barrel, black plastic grips, and the round loading gate. I told him the guys on here would know the answer. Thanks!

If original, it will have a 5 1/2" barrel, only. Probable build in 1956.............(Went to 55,xxx)

That's where the problem lies, he says it has a 6 1/2" barrel and it didn't fit the data he has. The serial # is 50,xxx. It may have been modified he has no history, thanks.

Are you certain on the s/n? Is it possibly a Super Single six (adjustable sights, 6 1/2" bbl) which started with s/n in the 500,0xx range in 1964?

I double checked with the brother and he incorrectly read the tape(ol' timers kicked in LOL) it is 5 1/2". Sorry for the bad specs and thanks for all the help.
