Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I am a collector of many things and part of that is a matched set of Buckeye Convertibles. I am not the original owner (I was around 7 when they were produced) and neither of them came with the red felt cylinder bag. I also have the "Buckeye that never was" S4440 .44 Convertible. It also does not have the bag. Did that series not come with cylinder bags, or are mine missing?

Welcome to the forum and Happy Thanksgiving,,,nice "set" you have there and those guns the cylinders were packed in bubble wrap/bags...most of the time folks liked to "add", and put them in the red felt bags.......... ;)
Thanks Rugerguy, they had some old bubble wrap pieces in the boxes. I assumed the original owner had done that. I put the cylinders in felt bags when I got them years ago but I am building a display case for them and wanted to make sure everything was done right.

Is your S4440 the same serial number suffix as the Buckeye pair? That matching trio is hard to put together. Buckeye Sports sold matched pairs of S32X and S3840, but because they went bust before the S4440 rolled out, those were never available to the same folks. Plus there were only around 1200 of the S4440 versus 5-6K ea. of the Buckeyes.

Unfortunately the S4440 does not match the two Buckeys. From the research I've done, it seems that only a handful of people have managed to get all 3 with matching numbers. I was just happy to find the .44 convertable at all, especially with the correct box and paperwork.

I saw one of the 44/40 combos last week at a gun show. I didn't buy it because I'm reducing the inventory...even of some Ruger's. Going to another show tomorrow and this may be a good place to ask. I'm going to take the Buckeye 32 H&R/32/20 with me.... the 32/20 cyl is unfired... a box through the H&R. Otherwise about as new. Unfortunately no box but do have paperwork. What would be a fair price to ask on it?

I don't really remember but it was somewhere around 2000-2100... It may have been more. I saw some horrendous prices at the show...a nice Nickle 29-2 4 inch was 1700 and a S&W 57 41 mag in pres case was over 2000 ...2 Ruger OAs were both over a 1000 each. I was hoping to find a Ruger Red Label so I could price mine but no luck...but I do have an idea about what they go for...Marlin LAs were becoming ridiculous....and people weren't buying anyway
