Just took possession of this very hard to find Ruger Blackhawk convertible.

A .32 H&R Mag cylinder came in the gun with an extra 32-20 cylinder included in the box.

The "Buckeye" distributor mark is on the top of the frame as shown. I believe this was a distributor that was located in Ohio at the time the gun was shipped (1988).

A check with the Ruger serial number on line tool verifies the 1988 shipping date

A forum member posted that he was willing to trade this Blackhawk for my .327 Single Seven, so the rest is history.

Looking forward to getting to the range with this since I have companion 32-20 and 32 Mag lever guns to go with them. (Browning 53 32-20 and a Marlin 1894 .32 mag).

I would look forward to your thoughts on this.

I believe it was actually Buckeye Shooters Supply, also known as Johns Sporting Goods, they were a supplier around here for guns and ammo and LOTS of reloading stuff...we used to pick up supplies from John for our shop as well as our friend Karl , Veiths Sporting Goods here in mentor,Ohio, my friend Walt W. was the gunsmith and became our partner back in the early 80s....
We were there ,visiting John when the Ruger Buckeyes started up and also when Bianchi was making the Ruger flap holsters, offered them in brown and was going to do the Buckeye leaf pattern on the flap holster both in brown and black,,,many of us got the guns and had the same serial numbered offered when the 38-40/10 mm was issued in 1990 ( the following year) wow they were a deal then, should have bought more and maybe even kept them??? ha ha..we don;t look back  ;)

Trooper Joe, you got a good one , use it and enjoy it, we even did a few of the "mag" cylinders, and rechambered them to .327 so you could should everything, no , we did NOT "remark" the cylinder, left it so as to not screw up collectors value...:sneaky:

Recently I was looking at some old gun magazines and was looking at an article which was well done, on this gun, when it was first coming out. Congrats on your gun !!

My "Baby Vaquero" .32 HRM will make a great companion piece to my new Buckeye convertible.

I just dropped a .327 Fed Mag round into my Buckeye convertible .32 HRM cylinder. There seems to be plenty of metal and looks like it could be converted to .327 easily.

Nice guns! I had mine converted to shoot the .327. I am not worried about resale value as it isn't going anywhere. Now you need the 10mm/38-40 to go with it.

I got a nice Buckeye in 38-40 and 10mm that I would trade for a Single Seven 7 1/2" bbl.

Very nice revolver. I made a few bids on them but they went higher and more than I wanted to pay. I made a low bid years ago for the 10mm/38-40 Buckeye model, won it, and it shoots really well. If I see a 32 Buckeye for the right price I will buy it.

Buckeye shooting supply was located on Harrison Ave SW, Canton, Ohio, just down the street from the steel mill. It was nice being able to place an order and if it was in stock, be able to pick it up in an hour or two the same day.

In 2012 a fellow SASS shooter sent me this. Yes, I did buy them.
They were in great shape with boxes and papers.
