I finally got to take a new Mini 14 I bought last year out to shoot it some. The only ammo I had with me was some Wolf .223. It didn't want load or eject very good. A couple of other .223 shooters were at the range and I asked them about what was happening and they said the Wolf ammo was to Nato specs. They gave me 30 rounds of regular Remington .223 ammo. Short story - shot some of the Remington then went back to the Wolf. Everything is working fine now with both kinds of ammo. This Mini14 is the one with the 16" barrel and collasible stock, but no flash hider. The scope I'm using is a Burris 2X7X35 with German #4 post recticle.

When I got my Mini-14 ATI it had a boat load of miss feeds and getting stuck with good ammo!
What I needed (and did) was clean it REAL good. The extractor the breech and lube up very well.
There is a long thread on Perfect Union: http://www.perfectunion.com/vb/tips-tricks/81261-new-mini-14-581-jams-loading.html
that covers this a lot better.
My Mini needed three GOOD cleanings and lubing to get her to work right with out sticking, failing to feed and the rest.

Good Luck,

Lateck,

My Mini-14 tactical had the same problems that snellville-dave described. My solution was a good cleaning/lube then kept firing it. If it had a failure to feed or eject I cleared the offense and kept shooting. They gradually lessened then disappeared.

Not a very scientific method but it is 100% reliable now. Guess it just needed to be broken in.
