As stated in the subject line I just purchased my first used gun.
Gp100 ss talo , Wiley clapp edition.
I went into Lgs looking for a 4" ruger revolver in stainless , there were none available but had a used one just in.
Not a mark on it ,looks like only a few rounds through it.
Paid $425.00 how did I do?
Looking into posting pics

The Wiley Clapp edition for $425 used seems plenty cheap to me ~ at least compared to new prices. Of course, I can't say that I've EVER seen a used one for sale.

Hell of a good deal, they sell for over $600 easy, nice find.

From what we see up here in the Northland, $425 for a WC talo GP100 is quite a deal. We are seeing regular GP100s going up in price from the 450 range early in the year to the 550 to 600 range today, depending on age and condition. New ones are harder to get and used ones are getting as much as just a $50 break off the regular new price.

And these W Clapps are a special edition with special features (checkered grip plates, tritium sights, etc.) and seem to have been smoothed out by the Ruger crew. They were a special run for a distributor, not an actual item on the regular product list. The newer GP100 with a 3" barrel on the Ruger website is similar in profile but without some of the little upgrades of the Wiley Clapp edition. I hear from good sources that the Ruger version is great to shoot.

You did good... try to find someone who will part with there "like new" gp for $425... fat chance!

Thanks for the info on my purchase.
After further review it appears that it was only fired at the factory.
The gun looks to be in perfect condition.
I cannot wait to put a few rounds through it.

That is one of the best deals I have heard of in a while, new $679.00-$729.00.
You did Great!

this is the only photo I have of my GP100:

This is my hunting handgun. I am shooting a 180 gr. XTP and getting great results.

Years ago I had the 4" model for qualification purposes. It never let me down and I always managed to qualify with a very high score (98-100). ;)

Update: I was in a LGS today, and they had a strange bird: a 3" GP w/adj sights in .38Sp.
...and, a clean used Clapp for $619! It had a hitch in the giddy-up on one of the 6 chambers. Definitely would send it back to Ruger.

 Ummm......can you put me in touch with them if you're not going to buy it? Seriously, you should go back and snag that one!
