Took my Blackhawk 45 down to the gunshop today and got some Burris Zee rings to mount up my old Burris 3x scope this morning.
Went to the range afterwards and shot a little bit.

Shooting a 300 gr cast boolit over 21.5 grains of 296 yielded fair results. Im ok with this for ME for 50 yard shooting. Ruger only load. Duplicate at own risk!

Gonna try n thump a deer with it this year.

Wow, that's some good shooting there Joe! I'd say the deer need to stay more than 50 yards away for sure!

Can't say I like a scope on a SA :( .... but good shooting none the less :) . I'd say the gun is shooting just fine!

+1 on the scope for me, but I do love my .45 Colt Blackhawk. ;) I took my buck last season with it and it's a great feeling to actually take big game with a pistol I must say. 8)

This is what got me started wanting one. It's a friend's custom. Octogonal Shilen barrel. Action job. Scope. Love it. Just couldn't bring myself to drill n tap this one in case I wanna go back.

Maybe one day I can afford a Freedom Arms to take its place. Ha

Good shooting and that's a load I'd write down someplace where you won't lose it 'cause the gun really likes it. Rod

If anyone is interested in trying the load, it's 10.5 gr. Unique under a 240 gr. Sierra Sportsmaster HP. ;) Mine will put 3 touching at 25 yards typically if I don't screw up, lol. ;)

Couldn't agree more. Took a big doe at dawn then a little 8 point couple hours later with my S&W 610. Both heart shots. The range was not difficult, letting em get to that range was!
