Hello everyone, I'm new to the site here. I own a few Rugers which include a M77 .270, LCP380, LC9 w/ crimson trace.
I'm looking at adding a Blackhawk flat top 357 serial 15xx. I know it's very early but not sure exact year and not sure of its worth. Online I see anywheres from $500 up. My buddy is selling it to me reluctantly, so he says I have to buy one of his other guns in order to get the blackhawk, which are not Rugers but maybe someone knows about them.
Winchester model 61 .22
Winchester model 12
Savage Fox model b-st .410 double barrel - unfired
All were his dads and never had any work done. All in great condition especially the Savage.

Can someone shed some light on the worth of these especially the Ruger?
Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum, this is one of the questions where LOTS more info is need, As well as the conditions of the guns, without "seeing" them it is very subjective, all are GREAT guns ( if in decent or better shape) all are "classics" and ALL are very desireable, if I could ,I'd go after all of them if he wants to "move/unload" them.......wow, nice stuff
model 61 s can run from $300 to well into the $1000s depending on condition as well as "configuration" (barrel shape, caliber, etc)
same goes for the mod 12 , and they may be even MORE if in a small gauge, gotta do your homework....if he has ANY clue, just ask him what he wants and how many YOU have to buy, THEN ask around....anybody who knows anything about firearms would be all over any of these guns...........don't even need a blue book for these values, go on line, any ship or any gun show.............
last 4 digit 357 mag flatop we sold was $750 two shows back........last 61 we sold was over $600 ,average shape, common gun;, Last Mod 12 we sold was $550, and was less than average, but a 16 ga....all of these were "deals" from an 'estate' over in Elyria,Ohio.....
Good luck

Thank you for the info.
The Model 61 is a .22 cal. and very nice condition. Not sure of the barrel shape, I think it's from the late 50's early 60's. Asking $700
Model 12 is a 12 ga. asking $800
Savage Fox is unfired and in very like new condition. asking $900
Blackhawk I confirmed with Ruger is a Dec. 1955 date. He'll give it to me at $500 if I buy one of the other guns.
Besides the blackhawk, I'm finding he is asking top $ for the others.

Not sure what I should do. Maybe make an offer or something.
I would say all of them are 95-98%

500.00 for the flattop is very good if condition is as high 90's 8) DO SOMETHING TO GET THAT GUN :D beg, plead, whatever

I hear ya, i want that one bad. I'd say it is 90-95%. There is a little wear from sitting in a leather holster. The plum color is super cool on this gun.

I just need to figure out how much to offer on one of the other ones. He really doesn't want to sell the ruger, but money talks.
I'm leaning towards the Savage, but i think it is probably too expensive. [/img]

You might want to jump on that Savage. According to the newest Blue Book that gun in 100% condition is worth $1300. That $900 price is about 93% condition.

Wow, what book is that? Mine from 2009 Standard Catalog of Firearms lists it a $800 in excellent.

The model 12 sounds like a deal too.

I think I'm going to eventually buy them all. He said he'd hang on to them for me.

That's the best option! You might get a superdeal on the lot of 'em. That .410 would sure catch my attention! But then... they all would!

My quote was from the 2012 Blue Book.

Grizz231.... here's the bible when it comes to gun values:

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/657650/blue-book-of-gun-values-thirty-third-edition-book-by-sp-fjestad

Those are retail sale prices reported by dealers. Private sales go for anywhere from 80% to 100% of Blue Book, depending on the gun. Desireable guns go for close to 100%.

Thank you, I'll be picking it up.

Thanks for the info fellas. I went to a local gun store and the Savage did book out between $900-1300. The others were right in there with his pricing too.
I'm gonna go with buying all of them over time. He's going to let me pick them off as I can do it.

Another coworker overheard us talking and he is offering me all his old guns too. This is great!! So far he has a Marling Golden 39A .22 S,L & LR Micro Groove Serial U, so 1960-61. 98% condition but has a scope. Does the scope take from the value? What yall think it's worth, fair price. He wants me to offer.
