Blackhawk .357 Price Question

I lean towards maybe not "lots" for $500.00 but there are some out there - $525.00 out the door from Legendary Arms in Medford, OR.

I think $500.00 or so is a "I should buy it" price for an Old Model. I bought an older New Model for $100.00 less, but it was a 41 Magnum and suspect that may have had something to do with it.
Legendary Arms is a great store. I try to swing in there whenever we do our Costco run.

I haven't been to Fox's for a while but I stop at Doc Holliday's pretty often. I'm about to consign a few pieces at Doc's myself. Stuff just hasn't been selling online.

First I heard anyone favoring a New Model. There is no New Model I am paying $700 for except a 32/32-20 Buckeye.
Just the other day I was looking at my old "Shooting Times" gun mag from February of 1989. The cover page shows the Buckeye Special along with a Marlin 32-20 lever action rifle. It was a very nice article on the Buckeye. I don't know how popular they were when they first came out, but this Buckeye Special seems to grow more valuable & appreciated with every passing year. I should have bought one back then when they first came out......

"If I wanted to buy a new Ruger handgun it would be cheaper to go to GB or order through Davidson's website."

You may often find lower prices online,, but you have to get a handgun shipped to a FFL in your area, and the shipping, the taxes, transfer fees etc all add up to often costing the same as buying local.
Just to follow up, I emailed the seller for a shipping quote. $100 shipped and insured. So that's $655 + tax + 1% GB compliance fees, in addition to your FFL's transfer fee. So, over $700.
Some of the sellers on GB will hit you with ridiculously high shipping fees… 😤
Read the fine print!!

The seller is an FFL? If so, that is pure theft. An FFL can mail a handgun for less than $20, depending on size, to another FFL.

Before I even think about bidding on an auction, shipping cost will be considered. Most post it right on the auction page.

As far as incoming, some of y'all must have greedy FFL's as well. My guy charges $15, but I tip him a fiver to round off at $20.

Some of the gun stores here.....cough....Runnings.....won't even transfer in a gun. If it ain't on their shelf you don't need it, I guess 🤪

Local gun shops here tend to cater to the tactical folks; trying to get anything else new will be time consuming and very expensive (you're going to get MSRP pricing). As for used, only a few stores even take in used to sell or consign; very hit or miss if you are looking for something specific, and again pricing is on the high side with very little wiggle room.
If shipping a handgun, start at around $45-50 and long guns start around $100, at the gun shops I've been to, and not all ship guns, or if they do, only handguns...

Again, To me, with all the fees and the hassle, I would just try to find something that you can just go get locally or as close to local as possible.. that's just me....
I cannot even fathom the idea of buying a gun online (and all the red tape and fees) sight unseen (and all the issues that might be hidden).

Buying retail new or used is bad enough I have only done it a couple times.

Mine are nearly all cash face to face.
