Grandson caught this one the other day. After a couple of pictures we released him back in the pond.

I like 'em on a skillet or even in a fish tank, especially the little guys that are called "pumpkinseeds". When they are in their mating colors, they are as pretty as any "tropical fish," and easier to keep.
Reliable "kid pleasers" on a fishing trip, too.
