Wow! With flattop44's serial numbers to be added, that's now 293 BKH47's reported!

On another forum, a guy posted about his custom build,, where the base donor gun was a .44 FT. I asked about the original bbl length, but he said it came with a NM stainless bbl,, and he didn't know what the original barrel length was.
But for the numbers guys,, it is out there as a new custom gun.

The original serial number; 12168

"Another one... 20515.

I guess that one's mine if all goes well with the amendment to my pistol permit (within the next month or so). BKH47 if I got the code correctly :)

I received a confirmation ltr from Ruger today (July 1) that it is a BKH-47.

Five more...
17212
22198
22602
26150
and the fifth gun is 11185 which would seem to be pretty early for a 7-1/2", but this gun does have a 7-1/2" non-INC barrel on it... perhaps it went back to the factory and was reshipped like a couple other early .44 flattops that are known like that.

Could that be determined by a "letter" from Ruger?

Is the BKH-47 model a 7 1/2" Flattop Blackhawk only or are the 6 1/2" models the same model number.

BKH4 = Original 6-1/2" .44 Flattop Blackhawk before the 7-1/2" guns came out requiring the two different numbers.

BKH46 = 6-1/2" .44 Flattop Blackhawk.

BKH47 = 7-1/2" .44 Flattop Blackhawk.

BKH40 = 10" .44 Flattop Blackhawk.

:)

Maybe.
By the time the 7-1/2" was offered, it should definitely letter as BKH-47.
So if it just letters as ".44 Blackhawk" or |BKH-4" I would have a lot of doubts... and no letter, well... no way to prove it.
