I was offered a bisley vaquero in .45 colt to buy and the guy told me it was a original vaquero not new vaquero and that it had a 5.5 inch barrel and the fake color case on the frame which I prefer anyway. At this point I've only seen one picture of it and it looked o.k. until I noticed that the ejector rod housing went all the way to the end of the barrel. Did Ruger produce a blued bisley vaquero with a longer ejector rod housing? or did they ever produce a vaquero with a barrel shorter than 5.5?

They made 7 1/2",5 1/2" 4 1/2" I have not heard of a long ejector housing. I bet the guy don't know how to measure a revolver barrel and is including the cylinder (chamber) in the barrel length.

thanks chuck that's what I thought when I saw the pic. do you know common the 4.5 was

On the Vaquero, the 4-5/8" was the next most common right after the 5-1/2". There are less Bisley grip framed guns of course, just cause. But the percentages are probably still the same for the 4-5/8" vs. 5-1/2" .45 Bisleys......common.
