Bisley 22

Picked up a Single Six bisley, .22lr, 6 1/2", blue, flat top with dove taled fixed rear sight, fluted cylinder. In very nice condition. Is this a rare variation? How many made? I gave $275 for it and it shoots great! TIA Paul S

Does it have a stainless steel grip frame?

If it does or not, you got a deal, but I think the SS grip frame one is rarer.

That's a great price for any Bisley Single Six! Photos and a serial number will help the experts identify exactly what model you have.

Early on it was an option to the adjustible sights in the Ruger catalogs for example #RB22W and RB32W. If you wanted a fluted cylinder, you just dropped the W from the catalog #.

But not the one with SS grip.

So yours is number RB22. Good price!

Not sure total production, but of the two, fixed and adjustable sights I believe the fixed sight, fluted cylinder is the scarcer of the two, that is, with the fluted cylinder. Roll engraved are the much more common variation, my info is all at home, I'm at work, maybe Chet 15 will chime in, Coogs.
