Bisley 10mm Conversion

I have new 5.5 Inch Stainless Vaquero .357 Magnum Bisley Vaquero inbound. I may very well wind up happy with it the way it is, on the other hand I am curious if a conversion to 10mm auto is feasible or not?

I know Ruger did a Buckeye model 10 + years ago with a 10mm/38-40 conversion unit so I would be inclined to think it possible. I prefer the rust resistance of stainless and the Bisley grip so that is why I never sought out one of those Buckeye models.

Brass and bullet availability have me looking at a 10mm over the 41 special. Besides if I convert this to 10mm then I have no reason not eventually to buy a Colt Delta Elite and Glock 29!

Yes, quite feasabile.
I had Alan Harton re chamber an Old Model .357 Blackhawk to 10mm a couple of years ago. It involved boreing out the barrel to 40 cal. and of course re chambering the cylinder. It is a great little gun and quite accurate. I find the recoil impules to be quite different than standard revolver chamberings. Very little muzzle flip. You feel like you have a LOT of power but mild recoil. I have fired some hot reloads in it that just fall out of the chamber when empty. The same ammo in my D.Wesson 1911 showed signs of high pressure. The little Ruger seems to shoot them with less pressure signs.
I had a Buckeye and felt it was a BIG gun for a 10mm and that is why I went with the mid sized frame of the old model.

Ruger made 40 S&W/38-40 polished stainless Vaquero convertibles.. Not a lot but they exist....
