I recieved a pair of birdshead grips in the mail yesterday from flattop 44. That was all I needed to finish up my birdshead NV. While I had it stripped down I gave it a matte finish with some scotchbrite pads, I really like the look of it now. The grip frame took quite a bit of fitting, first time I have ever done anything like this.

how do you type "wolf whistle"
very practical and the new finish gives it that subdued dangerous undertone. kinda like bruce lee relaxing in a bar.

That looks like fun. Wish the NV would come as a storekeeper from the factory, it would make more sense than the blackhawk sized ones from a few years ago.

Nice job. I like the finish, Scotchbrite? looks bead blasted. Where is the bilboard on the barrel? :D

It is a NV, the billboard is underneath.

I actually used different degrees of scotchbrite pads. I started with the regular green, but the finish looked really rough. Then I tried the maroon, that was a little better, but not quite what I wanted. I had some of the ultra fine grey pads that I finished it up with.

That thing looks sweet. Yeah fitting a grip frame is more work than a person might think. I thought I did a so so job on mine, then I started looking more closely at some of the factory fitted Rugers. The new ones can be bad, but I've seen some OMs that look like a blind monkey fit them. But I digress: yours looks great!
