I am replacing a recoil pad on a ruger #1 45/70 & I hope a 458lott. What recoil pad is the best- Kick-EEZ or Limbsaver or pachmeyer Deexcellerator?

I choose Pachmyers.

A Kick -EEZ I got on a Remington 700 was not fully cured and created a gummy mess in contact with any other plastic/foam.

Hi,

I've had a Kick-EEZ on one of my shotguns for a couple of years, and shot a few boxes thru a buddy's shotgun w/ a Limb Saver. The difference is probably pretty subjective, but I think I'd give a TINY edge to the Limb Saver. Have only fired three or four rounds w/ a Decelerator, so can't say one way or the other about it.

I use Pachmayr decellerator pads because the way they grind to finish and I like the looks of the 752 "Old English" series.

Kick ezz has a lot of options, shotgunners no doubt shoot more rounds than the rifle crowd, and more use the Kick ezz pads.

If you want it to actually fit you need a grind to fit regardless of brand. I have never used a kick-eez so can't comment on that one. I prefer the decelerator over the limbsaver. It is not as soft but more durable and looks better to my tastes. Although the decelerator is not as soft as the limbsaver it is way more cushion than the standard Ruger brick. I don't put "ventilated" pads on rifles.

I've used them all, and while I don't really like any of them, the Kick Eez is the best. The Limbsaver has the best mushiness if thats what you're looking for though. Both the Decelerator and Limbsavers are way too grabby for my liking. I really like the one that Ruger put on the Gunsite Scout Rifle. I like the Kick Eez because it fits really well and isn't nearly as thick as the others and isn't grabby like the others either.
