Best Non-Ruger SAA Clone

While I like my Vaqueros better this one has been really good. The Missus likes it better as it has a Colt Navy sized grip frame. Made by Uberti, it's the El Patron in 45 Colt.

I've owned One EMF Hartford (Uberti) and two Cimarron's (also made by Uberti)....All three gave better service than the two Gen-3 Colt Model P SAA's that I had prior to that. Of the five, only the Hartford remains.....
On the other hand, Steve Young of Steve's Gunz once told me that he thought that the Pietta SAA was even better than the Uberti. I haven't owned a Pietta myself, but I thought that his endorsement would be worth mentioning.

Here's my Uberti El Patron (with Guitar Parts & More grip panels that I fitted & finished). I've posted it before with the comments that it is the best fit and finished SAA clone that I've ever owned (comparable to my MUCH more expensive USFA and much better than my 3rd gen Colts). 45Colt of course.

IMHO,

I recently looked at the Migliore, a DAvidson’s exclusive manufactured by Pietta and was very impressed by the fit and finish and the factory action was tuned and very nice as well. I also have been pleasan by the Uberti revolvers sold under the Taylor name…they appear to offer very good value for the money and especially if you are looking for the classic four-click action.

I agree with Johnnu2’s comment above, the revolvers I looked at were better than the Colt third gen revolvers that i have observed of late.

I believe the Uberti El Patron is the best they offer. Their gun quality, historical accuracy, and sales price range is determined on the requirements of the importer.

Based on my observations Cimarron has the most exacting requirements for Uberti guns; regarding steel quality, function, action, frame shape/contours, location and size of markings, etc. Cimarron sends an original example of any gun to Uberti for any model they want reproduced.

Haven't handled a Standard to compare yet.

USFA are superb but only available at collector prices now.

I have dozens of them. Standard Mfg is the best of those currently made. Uberti and Pietta are basically equals these days. There is no difference in guns from the various importers like Cimarron, Taylor's, Dixie Gun Works, etc..
