I am a big guy and I am looking for a good quality border belt maker. I am looking for something 2-1/4 or 2-1/2 size 58-60. Thanks.

Well, since no one has responded, I'll throw in a little piece.
In asheville NC there is a place called "Jackson's Western Store." It has a very good leather dept. The guys who work there are involved in SASS, and make some excellent quality leather goods. Prices are reasonable. One of the two guys to talk to would be John, or Otter. Give them a call at; 828-254-1812, as for the leather shop. You can tell them that Tyrone recommended them.

I was going to recomend a Bianchi belt but after looking at their website, it seems they have been bought out by Safariland and the excellent River Belt that they once made has been dropped.

Try El Paso Saddlery...a good outfit...but that's a pretty big belt...seems like they charge a bit extra beyond 40. Rod

Go to simply rugged Ron Leehy is a great leather guy and makes a fine belt. I bought his belt and am very pleased with it. Top quality leather and a fair price.

Try Tandy Leather. They have straps up to 72" and belt blanks (up to 66, I think). Also buckles, from less than a buck on up.. Real easy to make a belt. I make my own pistol belts and holsters and I'm a 52 in a gun belt. Ranger belts are a little harder but not much.

Use olive oil or skidmores or lexol if you want brown. Check into using vinageroon, if you want a true black. Easy to make and gives a true black color (It's basically iron and vinegar).

If you want pink or......., you can get it there, if you want.

A couple of my early attempts-my first try (black) and my second try (Tan). Both slim jims.

Most makers don't offer belts wider than 1-3/4", but any custom belt maker should be able to. Here's one:

You mean there are places other than Simply Rugged to buy belts and holsters? You would never know it by looking around my house!

mernickleholsters.com. Good web site; excellent products with prompt service from friendly competent people. I have four of their rigs for cowboy action shooting....and I've got another one on my wish list.

A satisfied repeat customer is the best recommendation I can think of.

El Paso Saddlery makes a black powder pistol belt that might work for you. They have no ammo loops. Come wider and longer size standard. Still not cheap, but heavy duty.
