Barrel length question

Yes, you have it wrong! Non prefix rifles were usually of the B weight, 26" long. but A weight barrels of 22" length were also made; and 24" in the few V's and Tropical models. Non-prefix rifles were made with/without sights; with both forearm styles; some with target scope blocks, etc. I have estimated there are potentially around 110 possible caliber/configuration variations. That is why some of the are so rare!

Looked at a couple of #1s (locally), one in 308. Bought one (26' no sights, BT) in '68. As a 20 something "whippersnapper" didn't give the slightest consideration to value, then (or now). Sold it and regretted it.

Nearing 70 y.o. and thinking I "should" replace it… altho I am happy w/ a 130- 6mm Remington 1B as a PD & 'yote shooter (alongside a SAKO s/s in 6PPC (S/N 098 ! ) and a SAKO 222 Rem HB s/s).

Decisions, decisions.
