If you can't (and sadly I'm getting there) or won't, hire a professional. No idea what a pro costs, but likely a heck of a lot less than the fines alone.

I doubt it, I'd bet the fines are worse... used to forget to pay the sales tax I have to collect for items I sell customers... state tax person would spend 10 minutes with a calculator and looking in a book and the 'late penalty' always came out to the same... twice what you would have owed if you had paid on time. I once said I thought that seemed a little harsh and she said the other choice was to pay the amount and the fine for not paying which was $500.

I find it sad that a person I thought had some intelligence would read my post as well as a few others above & realize their mistakes. Yet,, you obviously have chosen to ignore the laws, and risk potential serious legal issues.
Since you have chosen to capture & relocate raccoons that are on your property,, to a public piece of property,, OR are choosing to trespass upon a piece of private property,,, I'd like to give you something else to consider. How will you feel if you catch someone coming onto YOUR property dumping animals or trespassing?
How will you feel if a child is on that piece of property,, and gets bitten or scratched by a raccoon? How will you feel if that child is YOUR child,, or the child of a good friend?
Think it can't happen?
That same logic is why we have people shot because they thought the gun wasn't loaded. Or they live in a world where; "It won't happen to me."
I caught a big raccoon myself last night at a customer's house. When she called me to let me know I had one,, she also was a bit worried & upset. Her 9 year old grandson was visiting,, and she didn't know how to explain to him how the raccoon must be euthanized. I calmly gave her some things to say to him. BUT,, I also stressed that they all needed to stay away from my cage until I removed the raccoon.
So,, keep ignoring the laws. Keep on believing you won't get caught. Keep on believing nothing will happen.
You may get away with it.
But how will you feel if you get caught or if someone gets hurt or even dies due to rabies?

What I think about with this catch and release some where else idea is that these critters more than likely have a family and you are displacing it... probably just the weak wimpy liberal in me... but it is what hurts me. Over the years I've had to go remove dead baby raccoons from a chimney because the mother went out at night and got run over and the babies starved.. homeowners surely could hear them but did nothing until they could not stand the smell...

It depends.
During hunting/trapping seasons,, you can do so under a hunting or trapping license. So yes.
OR,,,,,,,, if you get a state issued depredation permit,, YES,, you must do so,,,, if the species poses a potential problem. A raccoon is high on the list of rabies vectors,, and as such,, no relocation is allowed,, they must be euthanized.
If an animal is inside your home,, and you catch it,, and take it outside & release it immediately upon your own property,, that's also allowed.
In Jack Ryan's posts,, he's catching a potential rabies vector animal,, and taking it to a city or county, or state park area. NOT his own property. He is releasing a potentially diseased & dangerous animal on other property he does not own.
He should kill the raccoons. And the trapping & all should be under a state issued permit if Indiana has a program like that.

I don't go outside without a firearm,Black bears a big problem,fox,fisher cats mean sob”s, Coyote”s,eagles, hawks falcons,squarls,chipmunks,snakes,groundogs,turkeys. I shoot chipmunks all day long they are very destructive chew up our cars just spent $720 on a new front axle because they chewed threw the grease boot.the bear destroyed our duck pen,i ive been attacked buy the eagle 3 times,run over by the bear once it never ends.

Well I rolled out with the Knee Scooter onto the back deck and into my wife's potting room this morning to get some bird seed for the front yard chipmunks and birds and some para-cord to secure my pack /holster to the basket of this scooter and low and behold Little Slinky, that's what I''ve got to name this black snake that was curled up by the bucket of bird seed. Now we have Slinky: about 8ft, Slinky Jr... 6.5 ft and little Slinky 2ft... I swear I think there is one about four feet somewhere down in my storage area.
Blume send those snakes to me.......you bring feed to chipmunks but I want to bring the chipmunks to something to feed on them....I swear you shoot 1 and 3 more take it's place.
