We had a brand new Silvertone console radio in those days.

Incidentally, Renfro Valley is a place on the map. Never went there, but have passed it on the Interstate going from Lexington, Kentucky to Knoxville, Tennessee. Some of God's most beautiful country!

Sorry to say that I am not the least bit familiar with Renfro Valley and that is my great loss. Looks to have been a very entertaining program!
Daddy purchased a Magnavox B&W TV in about 1955 and I do remember watching "Old American Barn Dance" and a few other such shows.

Never heard that, but did listen to WWVA on weekends for the REAL Country music; not the stuff they call Country today.
