When that movie came out AI was something few had even heard of. But here we are on Skynet day and the reality of AI is real. Not only real but embraced by the government, business and folks in general.

Perhaps the writer was as as far thinking as Orwell.

Unplug it then see how smart it is. Old movies like War Games never even talked about just unplugging the computer.
