Another similar option is the barrel-mounted sight from Sklinner. I recently put one on my 77/44 and like it. It does not require changing the front sight.

See how the rear sight dovetail is on a separate elevated piece on the RSI?

That slick peep you have won't cooperate on these rifles. Too bad..
