Maybe missed it,but haven't seen much posted on the .38 Special or .357 versions of this
revolver.

Not much to say except that I love mine. I didn't like the front sight but that was an easy fix.

357 owner here very nice and carry-able wheelgun, best trigger I've ever had on a pocket revolver.

I have been looking at them for another CCW option. I usually carry my 1911 CMD or Glock 23.
From talking to a few people the .357 version gives you a good snap to the hand.
Is the cylinder the same OD in .357 vs. .38 Special?
I have read where hot .38 Special +P wad cutters can make a good defense round.

Nice little package there!

357's are not that bad, go find a Smith 340 and try that and you'll see. I've been pocket carrying J-frame and SP's for along time, the LCR is the cream of the crop, bar none even my old PC tuned 340 can't compare. Plus with the 357 you have the 38 family as well if 357's are too much.

Looks like a 5-Star speedloader you've got there. How do you like them compared to the usual suspects?
I'm thinking about getting a couple for my LCRX. I carry mine in a jacket pocket all the time with the boot grip. The original is more comfortable to shoot but it prints more in a pants pocket, and is sticky(good and bad). I'll probably never part with this snubby.

Just found one in .38 Special at my LGS for $419. Will wait till a .357 shows up, for more ammo options.

I carry my 38LCR more than anything else. Sometimes in a pancake owb and sometimes in my pocket with a pocket holster. I have the same sight as whaler, since my wife took mt CT grips for her 22LCR. I got mine before the 357 was available, but if I had the mag version I would probably still use 38+P's.

I find myself less and less enamored with plastic handguns, but I continue to rationalize.

I've got a couple LCR's in .38. One is hammerless, and the other has an exposed hammer. I've only shot the exposed hammered version.

The little LCRx is a very dandy shooter, and I've been carrying it pretty regularly. It weighs almost nothing, and it rides extremely tight to my side.

Holsters with a thumb snap that fit the LCRx are so far non existent. So, an old Uncle Mikes with a retention strap works very well until the holster makers get on the bandwagon.

WAYNO.

The 5 Star is the way to go, well worth the price. I have one of the HKS loaders sold by the Ruger store and it will work but is not the quality of the 5 Star. The 5 Star is also smaller in diameter so it fits the LCR better.

I have the 357. Trigger is one of the best DAs I have ever shot (that includes new and old Smiths, Pythons and Diamondbacks). My best 5 shot group is under 2.5" at 20 yards unsupported. So yeah, it's pretty accurate. I do not like to shoot 357s in it. I find them painful. It is my EDC.

I have an LCR in 38 spec and carry it almost everyday, I really like it. Have been considering one with a hammer now, and is sounds like those of you that have them have seen an increase in accuracy when using it in single action mode?
Also, has anyone heard anything about Ruger bringing out the .22 with a hammer? I am pretty sure that I would buy one of those if Ruger brought that out.

I have the LCR 38 spl and it is a nifty little thing. Easy to carry and easy to shoot, even with arthritis and other age related challenges :D I also have the 5 star speed loaders. Very good quality and they really fit well with the revolver. The other standard speed loaders are too bulky and bind up against the grips, you have to fiddle around with them to make them work. NOT what you want if you need to reload in an emergency situation.

In my opinion you could not go wrong with the LCR.
