As the title says, I found some pistol boxes while cleaning out a home. No guns, just the boxes. May sell just one, maybe more later. Is it worth my time to list them here, or better served on a S&W forum?
Also have a partial box/label end from a Colt. Maybe worthless but I hate to throw it away.

yes, about any and all " gun boxes" are collectible, useable to folks and obviously the bigger drawing or getting seen, is the forum of the makers in question, BUT that being said , I';d suggest offering it to 'folks' here first, up to YOU, your call, as I know there are many HERE that are into S&W,,,,,,, whether they say so or not,,,ha ha :rolleyes:;)

.....and NO do not throw away any end flaps that have the label attached, as they too are marketable, especially Colts !!!(y)

I also would consider a box or three.
686 no dash.
10.
15.
Maybe others.

They cardboard or plastic?

S&W shipped a much wider range of factory optioned guns than most manufacturers. their box labels are very specific down to the model option details and s/n and as unique as the guns shipped inside.

they are still collectible even when separated, however not as easily paired to different guns as more generic labeled boxes from other manufacturers are.

any of the boxes have the tools or paperwork in them? also sought after by collectors. older and higher optioned boxes like 3 T's are desirable.

you'll find more comps for value estimates on gunbroker, several Smith and Wesson forums, etc. however it appears you might find buyers here.

good luck!

one of my personal favorites, purchased new by my friend's dad, complete with original store receipt for $98.50 🙂

I’m holding a gun for my best friends son for when he’s ready to get it from me. All I have is the gun and the speed loaders that were on him when he passed. I’ve tried to find a box without any luck, so would it be a stretch to ask if you have a box for a model 19–6 nickel plate 6 inch?

The second time I moved in the last 30 years I looked at all my gun boxes, realized what a big pain in the butt all the long guns ones were, and threw them in the landfill. I figured I didn't have time to sell them and at less than $30 each for them at the time after shipping I might have been out $200. Worth it to me to declutter and it increased the value of everyone else's remaining cardboard (you're welcome!)
