:mrgreen: I have a NM Blackhawk, 41 mag. Is it a Flat top? Or is the OM Blackhawk a Flat top? The Lipsey's catalog has NM Blackhawk's, but the Anniversary Model Blackhawk's say Flat Top in the item description. Question#2: Is the grip frame on a SBH a little longer than a NM BHK? I'm talking about a Stainless model. I'm looking for a 44 mag in either a 5 1/2 inch SBH or the Bisley SBH with the 3.75 barrel. I want a woods carry/target/protection gun. Any advice will be appreciated 8) BHK

There are OM flat-tops and non-flat-tops; nowadays, there are NMs that are flat-tops, and non-flat-tops. Look at the top of the frame; if the rear sight is set in to "ears" on the frame, it is not a flat-top.

This is an Old model (3-screw) non-Flat Top.

All Ruger Blackhawks that have adjustable sight and don't have a raised rib on both sides of the rear sights are Flattops. Your .41 Mag. could be a Ruger Blackhawk or a Ruger Flattop. We need to see pictures. Old models are Old Model Flattops, and New models are New Model Flattops. Most people look for and want to acquire the Old Model Flattops.

The New Model Super Blackhawk grip, if it has the square back trigger guard is bigger then the Blackhawk grip.

I think the 5 1/2 in. .44 Mags. have the Blackhawk size grip frame.

No but they made New Model .41 Flattops and the The Blackhawk Kid said he had a NM .41 Blackhawk.

The short barreled Supers (4 5/8" & 5 1/2") have the same grip frame as the regular Blackhawks except that it is steel.

The long barreled Supers (7 1/2" & 10 1/2") have the larger dragoon style square back trigger guard grip frame on them. It's approximately 1/4" longer than the Blackhawk grip frame.
