Grown man. What is this about?

.

kmoore has it right.

I'll add that they have low self esteem, fail at social interactions, and in general,, failures in much of their lives.
They were raised in a manner where they were shielded from reality, hard work that rewards, and in many cases, a Christian upbringing. Basically, it starts with the parents, & followed by the society that has given praise for anything & everything,, while failing to teach that in life there is failures, consequences for ones actions.

The list of such things is long.

When many of us here were being raised,, if we did wrong,, we got spanked. If we tried working on something, and failed,, we learned that failure was normal, work at things differently. If we went to play sports or whatever,, there were winners & losers. If you lost, you tried harder next time. You didn't get participation trophies.
We learned that hard work had rewards. We learned that success was directly related to our efforts.

The "Make everybody feel good" attitude has failed.

I was blessed with three daughters, very beautiful and feminine---was always sorry a bit we had no son. But I would be very saddened if I had been blessed with a son--and he turned out to make himself into this kind of being. One has to wonder what force enters into a brain and causes an outcome like this to happen.

Does anyone really understand mental illness?
Not any more, there are no mental institutions where these types can get studied, talked to, problems analyzed, trials of something that might help them, etc. In the distant (and not so distant) past think about how these people would have be "taken care of", just like how the "funny uncle" was taken care of, how horse thieves, robbers, murders, etc. were dealt with (cleaning up the gene pool maybe???).

And as said, I also believe it starts at home, be it a single parent or two parents (mom and dad, not mom/mom, dad/dad) that were brought up correctly and knew what they had to do to bring up a child that could/would function as a normal person in society.

I guess I'm just old and people will say "you have to realize things are different now" . Yeah, but what does that say about the future of ALL humanity?

Attention whore plain and simple.

They choose to do these things in my opinion to to take your attention away from the fact they are a whackadoodle that you would despise anyway. They can say it’s the hair and salve the wound that dislikes for who they are might leave.

We’ve been sold acceptance is the kind thing. I’m here to say unacceptable behavior needs to be pointed out loudly and early.

I will never spend a bit of time trying to get to know someone who exhibits “the look”. If they have some sort of redeeming quality I will never know. They don’t care about my feelings nor I theirs.

I’ve read this part of your post several times and just can’t decide if you’re saying they were shielded from a Christian upbringing or that a Christian upbringing is a cause of the mentality. I’m learning toward you’re saying they were shielded from a Christian upbringing.

Is wearing make-up that washes off really a sign of mental instability? How does that compare to getting ink injected into your skin for a decoration that doesn't wear off? I consider tattoos a much greater sign of mental illness.

"I’m learning toward you’re saying they were shielded from a Christian upbringing."

You are correct in your interpretation.

Lotsa different cases, not trying to start anything here...

I was not raised in a christian household and I have ZERO desire to do that.
