Today I was walking around the gunshow prior to opening. Sitting on a table plain as day being sold on consignment was a 10" 3-screw Flattop Blackhawk 44. It had a ridiculously low price on it. Needless to say I snapped it up! Turns out to be one of the very last Type 4 BKH-40's manufactured. SN is 23875. I would rate condition as 95%, The grip panels are perfect too!

Very nice find! The OM FT's are my favorite Rugers. Not looking for a 10", but if one fell on my lap...

As a side note, on the same table was a red eagle standard auto with a 4 digit SN starting with 9xxx. It was about 60 % condition. Passed on it and bought the Blackhawk. I am not doing the show today, but am sure it is still available. As I remember the price was $529.

Lucky dog!

And, that comes from someone that prefers the New Model guns...the 10" flattop is the only old model that I would buy.

A "super" nice find! I've not seen any on a gun show table, ever. It's only 500 numbers higher than mine!

Ty, this is the second one I have found in the last year or so. Right place at the right time I guess.

To me, that is why I still set up at shows. I get to "look around" before the general public comes in. I think it is thrilling to see what might be on the next table or over in the next row. I enjoy it immensely. Some vendors don't have a clue sometimes on what they have on there own tables. Thankfully I know a enough about Rugers and Smiths to keep my bank account low. :D

Dave, I have resembled that remark, about setting up at shows. I don't do it as much as I used to, darn it.
But, I did score a PAIR of Ruger drills by doing that many years ago.

Today, I went to the range. I shot this revolver along with WAYNO and another guy. We only shot one cylinder load, each person got 2 shots. Point of impact was different for all of us, but our shots were an inch or so apart. What a nice shooting gun!

This shows the touch better function and accuracy of these old models. Just my opinion.... I am happy. :-)
