ANOTHER #1 TRIGGER QUESTION

I plan on replacing the factory trigger on a #1B (ser# 132-280XX.....1982 vintage?) Have spent several hours searching the net and our not so user friendly search feature. Have viewed Moyer's.....Timney.....Kepplinger.....Jewell.....and Shilen.

Best I can determine, only Moyer's and Kepplinger offer a trigger for the #1. Have I missed any possible alternatives or options?

i installed a 2lb. jard in my custom #1 and it works perfect.

May have to go to Jard direct. They aren't advertised long and loud for the #1, but the one I have works well and I will probably buy another.

Canjar made an excellent single-set trigger for the #1. They are out of business for several years, but you could watch the boards and auction sites for one. If you see one jump on it because they are popular with knowledgeable shooters.

I sent a 1V to these guys for some trigger work recently. They took a un shootable 6LB+ 2 screw factory trigger and made it a 3.5LB shootable one.

Thanks for the link Scott, looks like they know what they are doing and the price is certainly reasonable.....wish they were closer. Am wondering if all of you posters feel as I do....that we should not have to do this. Why did Ruger put such a crappy trigger in such a beautiful rifle. They really should be ashamed :x.

Did the Jard trigger require any fitting to install and/or get the safety to engage?

Had to do a bit of filing to get the safety to engage after adjusting the trigger to the release that suited me. Any time you change the trigger and or adjust the old 3screw the safety needs attention. Just the way the critter is built. Don't know about the Kepp-.
