Not what I expect... I thought it was going to 'go off' while the reporter was being filmed in front of it. Man what a mess... that really looks like some kind of Saturday Night Live skit.
I actually had a dead squirrel explode on me about 35 years ago while trying to get it unstuck from a fireplace. You really don't want to have that happen to you.

I had heard about this long ago,, and never had the opportunity to see the footage. That was funny!

I guess nobody thought to hook a tow cable to it,, wait for high tide, and have a tugboat pull it back out into the sea. Then,, if you wanted it to sink & all, you could place a few smaller charges in it & blow it,,, or heck. Just put a temporary anchor on it, and let the sea creatures devour it.

This happened a couple of years before I left Colorado for Oregon. People were still talking about it when I got here. If you mentioned you were headed over to the coast, you'd get told to watch out for exploding whales. Quite the event up here. 😲
