A while back I bought a Winchester Ranger 24 gun safe.

But with the lower shelves in there, I could only fit 6 of my rifles in there.

I ended up pulling all of the lower shelves out and building my own rest to organize things a little better

But once I did that, it left me short on shelf storage so I decided to build myself an ammo cabinet. I jumped on craigslist and found an ugly old brown metal cabinet for a reasonable price

The top shelf would work for what I'm doing, but the rifle rest definitely had to go.

It had 4 spot welds that I needed to get off without warping or denting the back of the cabinet.

Bought a sticker off ebay

Picked up some fabric and plywood, 1/2" plywood for the sides and back, and 3/4" for the shelves.

I didn't have a plan for this, just figured it out as I went. Started cutting and wrapping.

It was quite a puzzle to get large pieces in through a small door. I built and inserted one piece at a time, and once I had every piece fabricated, I had to put all the pieces in the cabinet and then build the bottom, then the top, and then the middle lol

And here's the final product

And yes, I wrapped them all the way around...top and bottom

Here's what I was replicating it after

And here's what it was made for

It came with it, and I LOVE it. I actually don't keep anything in the pockets, but it does work well for handguns. I'm sure you could order one through Winchester.

And thanks for all of the compliments guys! The flash shows some paint stripes on the door, but those aren't visible to the eye in normal lighting. And I used splatter paint from home depot, it's not as textured as the bigger safe, but close enough for me.

My safe was made a couple years before they came out with the door panel organizers, granite safe company actually makes Winchester safes I contacted them a couple years ago and they would not sell them separate of the safe, Looked at their site today and see they now have door organizers available as a accessory but they are not as nice as the ones that come with the safe.

Take some measurements and do some looking around, I know there are a bunch out there. You may even have to modify one to fit your door
