i have an rws 34 for over 30 years and still takes out skunks when called upon.

They look like great rifles but they seem to be a bit pricey.

Like we see with so many things, in the air rifle market there's a curve in the price structure, where, up to a certain point, the more you pay the more you get. Then after that point, lots more money gets you smaller incremental changes in quality, features, longevity, etc. I'd suggest most of us would hit that peak around $500 when talking about springers. Add that "being German" kicks the price up quite a bit, while "being Chinese" does marvels to the price, but the jury's still out on quality. The Koreans seem to fill the middle ground there fairly well, and the Turkish Hatsan brand gets lots of kudos in that market as well. BTW, a buddy has a Model 34 I know he bought when he was in college (graduated in '78), and it's still going strong--so I guess that $135 which set him back a bit in those days has proven to be a good investment!

Now if one wants to look at PCP guns, I have no idea what one should pay to get a good workhorse, a decent hunting piece, or an excellent target rifle, but prices in the several $1000s seem common. :shock: My budget keeps me looking into a springer...

BTW, a buddy has a Model 34 I know he bought when he was in college (graduated in '78), and it's still going strong--so I guess that $135 which set him back a bit in those days has proven to be a good investment!

That's about what I paid for a new Smith & Wesson K-22 at about the same time--and it's still going strong and giving me great joy too--money WELL spent! :wink:

back when i bought mine it was 119.oo today there a lot more.quality it has got cause it still thumps them skunks just fine.also they are very accurate and a lot of fun.
