I saw them in 1974 and again in 1978 at Veterans Memorial in Columbus, Ohio. It was a great show. Too bad, Vet's is gone. Used to have the Ohio Gun Collectors shows there too. I quit OGCA when you had to start driving to Cleveland or Cincinnati for the shows.

The group formed in 1970. That's way back there. I'm pretty a broke down old dude and I was 13 when they started up.

I never cared for them either.

the amazing thing is how many of these rockers have actually managed to live this long.. the Stones are the premier example.... I have to say they must be some more tough dudes to have lived through all the drugs and such they did. Then again a lot of them didn't.

To answer Johnnu2.... this is Steve Tyler... he was just the lead singer of the group and spent 50 years screaming at the top of his lungs until he broke his vocal cords and it seems they can't be repaired. I'm sure there are others here who can answer much better... my only experience was him in two episodes of Two and a Half Men where he lived next door to Charlie Sheen and would 'practice' his singing at night... which was him doing this high pitched screeching....

Man....I wore out my "Toys In The Attic" 8 track tape.......played it constantly. It was already worn out by the time I got my DL....buddy had a K10 with a 8 track deck. Most everyone had switched to cassette decks by then but I still had all my 8 tracks, so my collection was brought back to life in that truck .....sadly, that tape gave up the ghost while cruising a back road on the way to a field keg party one night with, of course, Sweet Emotion blaring out the windows...epic beginning to that song played loud on that road. It was our thing....they knew we were on the way and almost there....which was important because we usually had the keg in our truck......

I always enjoyed their music. They had a good long run. Now I find myself wondering if they will just retire & leave it at that or if they will sell the use of their name to some cover band.

I remember being at a Journey concert years back. I looked around and was amazed by all the old people. Then I remembered- I'm one of them! I first saw Journey in Anaheim in around 1979…good times.

Journey lead singer was Steve Perry.....this thread is about Aerosmith, lead singer is Steven Tyler.

I saw Journey a couple times as well, but in the early 80s.

It's interesting to watch bands and singers age. Often there is that sweet spot where they are old enough to take advantage of everything they have learned through the years, but they haven't started to lose their voice yet. And then all of a sudden it goes South. It was torture to hear Johnny Cash later in years. Paul Simon hung in for a long time but.
