Accurizing an SP101 22

I have an older SP101 22 that I really like to shoot. I have a terrible time seeing the sights and am considering getting a fibre optic front sight put on it. I had one on a double rifle a few years back and could shoot a lot better with that than those blurry little metal beads. It has two cylinders that are a little tighter than the rest that I think I'll get cleaned up. I was wondering if anybody has had one of these tuned for accuracy other than a spring kit and if you have, what have you had done and did it make much difference?

I would not do that. Your original Sp102 .22 has allot of apeal to people that may prefer it over the new one which comes with the sight you are referring to. Why not just sell yours and buy a new one. Could be a wash....

I have one of the original full lugged versions. I prefer a black sight picture for accurate shooting. It provides a nice clear sight picture. Mine is very accurate to boot.

Haven't had a SP101 in .22 but have several .357's. I have always thought of the SP101 as a short range weapon so sights were not as important. As long as I could hold a 6'' circle at 21 ft I was good to go.
