Had A2400 powder on my "wish list" for some time at Midway. Just received this in an email. Not sure exactly what it means. Can't believe they'd discontinue production, though I did hear that most 2400 was going into military production. Don't know.

"We're Sorry. The item you've been waiting for has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase."

I also received a Midway email this morning. Same meassage but it applied to Bullseye powder.
I'm lucky I acquired eight pounds from Powder valley when it was available.
What is the real story on Alliant not producing powder.

Get powder when you can, and start researching new recipes because you won't get any new Alliant powder for at least a year, hodgdon and IMR and Winchester are still available, but not consistently. Gotta start trying out vihtavuori next..

Apparently the company that produces Alliant powders has been having problems supplying the consumer market for a while. Many of their excellent powders have been hard as heck to find. 2400 being one of them. I looked for about 1-1/2 years for some,, and lucked into a place that got in a fresh batch. that was several months ago. I purchased enough to allow me to continue my normal use of it.
As the saying goes; "If you need it,,, and haven't been able to get it,, buy it when you can,, otherwise,, do without.!"
