I just ordered a new Ruger Super Redhawk 9 1/2" .44 Mag. from Kentucky Gun Co.

Will it come with scope mounts???
They only show the Ruger stock number for specs.
When I go to the Ruger site they don`t mention the mounts in the list of specs.
Mod. # is 5502 and catalog # is KSRH-9

What say you?? Thanks, Chuck

Based on my reading of the Ruger web site, yes the Super Redhawk does come machined for the specific Ruger scope rings and includes the rings. The "scope mount" is built into the gun, it is not a separate bolt-on part.

Another good thing with Ruger is you can swap the Rings back in for 30mm Rings if you need to, as long as they are new.
The 44 Magnum SRH will come with 1" Stainless Steel Rings.

I prefer using an UltraDot on my revolvers when hunting in the woods. The 30mm version (UltraDot 30) is much better than the 1" (UltraDot 25), as you have a much greater field of view through it.

You will really like it. My hunting Revolver is a 9-1/2" 480 Ruger SRH, with 30mm UltraDot, and Hogue Tamer Grips. I also add a "Green" Marble Fiber Optic front sight for back up. I also have a 7-1/2 set up just like it only with a 1" UltraDot. When I bought the 7.5" the 1" UltraDot was already on it. The 30mm is a big improvement over a 1".

My Bisley SBH Hunter also has scope mounts integral to the barrel. It also came with the rings, 25mm. I swapped them with Ruger and got the 30mm. I put a red dot on it(ADCO). I figure short range gun, short range sights. Good luck with your purchase, a fine firearm.

Thanks guys, You have been a great help.
I will swap them for 30mm and order in a Ultra Dot for it.
I can play with the open sights while waiting.

Question, Do I need pre authorization for the ring swap? Do I send them to the service department along with a letter ?

Thanks again, Chuck
