You can never have enough 44's ask me I have 6. They just turn up everywhere. Seems everyone buys a 44 then decide they are too much gun for them or something. The used market is flooded with 44's and I cant resist a ruger single action at a fair price no matter what the caliber. That's how I ended up with 6.

Never heard of a 305 ---- I DO remember the 308, though.

That one still looks like a 300 to me. :D

The 308 I believe was an ultralight version. I owned a couple of 301s which were the lefty version of the 300. In my day it was about the only lefty spinning real out there.

I had a slew of the old Mitchell 300 series reels since Grandpa gave me and my brother each an Eagle Claw combo packrod (convertable from standard to flyrod) each with a 300 reel on it. I had the same problem with all of them including a Deluxe model purchased from Cabelas catologue. The bail return spring breaks so often I gave all of them away and bought some other brand that has been working every since. Everytime I see one though it reminds me of my beloved Grandpa who is still hanging on barely.

I have both the Mitchell 305 & 300 they are real classic work horses still working today.

As far as the 44's I have neither vintage and would like to acquire!
