A new cowboy gun

I'm not a CAS but have carried my Vaquero while horseback. I thought Id try the Pietta version of the Colt Single Action. It arrived Friday and I just picked it up. The Vaquero is in 44Mag and the Pietta in 357. I like no transfer bar and the FP on the hammer. It makes it a 5 shot but that's ok, it worked for Marshall Dillon.

I hope to shoot it tomorrow.

My "Italian" is an Uberti (El Patron) that came out of the box with the finest action of any single action I've ever owned; certainly better than any of my Colts. It had their safety hammer/trigger (no transfer bar), but I put in one of their "non-safety" hammer/triggers. It's a 45Colt cal.... first pic with original grips and second pic with some Eagle grips (Kirinite) that I fit to the gun myself: Edited for full disclosure: It shot left and low out of the box; I had to file down the front site and open the rear channel just a tad on the right side; all better now.

I have both the Ruger New Model Blackhawk 5" in 45 Colt w/conversion cylinder 45 Auto and the Uberti Cattleman II. I hate to say it be the Uberti has a much more natural feel with a little bit larger grip, over the Ruger. Personally the first shots out of the Ruger New Model Blackhawk with it's adjustable rear sight was not good accuracy wise... well I measured the cylinder throats and they were under diameter size for a .45 Colt and should have been at 0.452".. Ruger CS got a call, and it was shipped back.. still waiting on it as I type..
